The Sacred Miracle: Dera Sacha Sauda, A Confluence of All Religions

Under the clear skies of Sirsa, stands a miracle, a place so sacred where every head bows with reverence, where every soul feels elated, where the spirits of equality, unity and brotherhood prevail.

Over the last few centuries, one of the most reverberated and common teachings of Saints, Prophets and Revered Gurus has been regarding the oneness of Almighty God. ‘All religions lead to the same path’ is something that the saints have been teaching since ages, and yet, religion is used as a divisive force to divide the masses.

But in 1948, the land of Sirsa saw a magnificent historical moment unfolding itself, setting the stage for a future that could not be envisioned by the masses.

A saint emanating divine radiance, who used to call Himself poor, and spoke Sindhi, came, and started building an Ashram (Hermitage) along with some of his followers.

That divine manifestation was none other than Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj. Mastana Ji was ordained with the task of teaching method of meditation to the dwellers of ‘Bagad’ belt (Northern India) by His Guru Savan Shah Ji Maharaj.

Savan Shah Ji Maharaj bestowed spiritual powers upon Mastana Ji, magnifying them significantly, accepting his pious slogan ‘Dhan Dhan Satguru Tera Hi Aasra’ as an all-religion slogan, which would be accepted in the holy realm of the Almighty.

Savan Shah Ji also sermonized that Mastana Ji’s voice would be akin to Almighty’s divine voice, which would attract souls, and that every individual who learnt method of meditation from Mastana Ji would lack nothing in both spiritual & worldly affairs , provided he meditated a little, did selfless service and upheld the 3 core principles.

Upon receiving many more spiritual bounties from His Guru, Shah Mastana Ji came to Sirsa to commence the great spiritual task.

Eventually, on the sacred day of 29th April 1948, Shah Mastana Ji established Dera Sacha Sauda, the confluence of all religions.

Dera Sacha Sauda is a confluence of all religions, a great spiritual college where people from all religions, caste, creed, colour or age are welcomed. The divine teachings of oneness of Almighty, acting in accordance with one’s religions, truthfulness, hard work and selfless love are imparted to all.

Miraculous Acts, Divine Presence and Harmony Beyond Religion

From constructing beautifully carved building to demolishing it overnight and reconstructing it, only to reveal the multiplication of bricks, Shah Mastana Ji displayed many antics which led to spreading of his reputation far and wide.

People from across the cities and villages started coming to meet Him. From folks of Punjab and Haryana to people of Rajasthan, UP and Delhi, masses from various states would come to get a divine glimpse of Shah Mastana Ji.

It was a sight to behold, where brotherhood and unity were seen at peak, no one ever fought on the name of religion, since Mastana Ji taught that all religions led to the same Almighty

It is only place in this universe where people from all the religions used to sit together in the same pandal, listening to the spiritual discourses and thereafter eating langar (community meal) together.

The same teachings are being followed till date at Dera Sacha Sauda, and every religion is considered at most revered.
